Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was born in Dallas,
Texas, to Gayle (Gaston), Director of the national office at Mary Kay, and
Freddie Wright, a pharmaceutical executive. She was raised in San Diego. At 14
years old, she started her career in modeling. She was a model in Paris and
Japan. After graduating high school, she became an actor. She was cast on the
soap show Santa Barbara (1984), for which she was nominated three times for an
Daytime Emmy. The first season of the show, she became a fan of co-star Dane
Witherspoon, whom she was married in 1986. She starred in the show as the
princess bride (1987) in the title role. Following her departure from Santa
Barbara, she was offered the lead in Denial (1990) as well as Jason Patric. She
met Sean Penn in 1990 while she was in State of Grace (1990). They had a
daughter Dylan Frances with him and the son was named Hopper Jack. Robin was
back in Hollywood with Tara one of the most significant roles of her career
after taking breaks. She was a stunning actress and a brilliant performer. She
was in Toys (1992) the film that was an comedy that starred Robin Williams. It
was hilarious. Wright was in the blockbuster sensation Forrest Gump (1994) with
Tom Hanks. She received a nomination for the Golden Globe Award in recognition
of her performance as Jenny. She was given a minor role in The Crossing Guard
(1995), which starred Jack Nicholson. After rejecting 14 roles she finally got
the lead role MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996). Pen Densham directed her and
Stockard Channing starred. Then, she appeared alongside William Hurt in Erin
Dignam’s Loved (1997).
