  Kerstin Marianne Ekberg (Swedish pronunciation (listen) 29 September 1931 - 1 January 2015) was an Swedish actress best known for her beautiful body and stunning beauty. Her iconic character of Sylvia in Federico Fellini's film La Dolce Vita (1960) earned her fame. Ekberg primarily worked in Italy where she became a permanent residence in 1964. Anita Ekberg was the eighth child in a family of eight. Anita was a fashion model in her teens. On the advice of her mother, Ekberg entered Miss Malmo in 1950. This resulted in her being selected for the Miss Sweden contest which she took home.
