Milena Markovna Kunis was born into a Ukrainian Jewish family on August 14th, 1983 in Chernivtsi, a city in the Ukrainian SSR of the Soviet Union (now Ukraine).Her mother, Elvira, is a Physics teacher who manages an establishment for pharmacy. Her father, Mark Kunis, is an engineer in the mechanical field who works as a cab driver. Kunis has an elder brother, Michael. Her parents were Holocaust survivors. Her mother tongue, as well as the typical language spoken in her family is Russian.
