Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was born to actresses Melissa D. Canaday, and Edward James Hyland in New York City. She began in the business at the age 4 by doing commercial work and voice overs. Her first film was Private Parts (1997). The Object of My Affection (1998) followed by Another World (1964) where she was "Rain Wolfe", a child discovered in a park, who was fostered and raised by Josie. Sarah would later collaborate with Amy Carlson ("Josie" on AW) several more times, including Falcone (2000), Law & Order (1990) and Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was named one of the young "Audrey Hepburns" in Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story (2000) in the same year that she was cast as "Molly" in ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999) starring Kathy Bates, Audra McDonald, Alan Cumming, Victor Garber and Kristin Chenoweth. Also, Joe Gould's Secret (2000) and Falcone (2000). Sarah took classes in jazz, hip hop, tap Theatre Dance and voice. She also performed with her tap and Theatre class at "Reel to Real" in Lincoln Center as invited performers. Sarah was born in New York and raised in New York. When she was home-schooled by her mother, she attended a public schools until the second grade. When she was in 6th grade she was accepted into PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) and stayed there until her graduation in 2008. Sarah was just 18 when she moved to Los Angeles. She landed an aircraft named "My American Family" within two weeks. After her acceptance, the pilot's name changed to Modern Family (2009). Sarah is currently the "Haley Dunphy", an the oldest Dunphy children. Modern Family (2009) has won numerous awards, the most notable being the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series.
